The Rockets.

When talking about innovation, we often turn to the metaphorical image of a rocket. The launch of an idea in search of new frontiers, following its route to the future. A rocket symbolizes that tomorrow and, in addition, it conveys the idea of teamwork, because a technology of this caliber cannot be launched alone, it needs committed people behind. With this idea as a premise, Prosegur decided to launch the Ideation and Intrapreneurship programs.

There can be many types of rockets. The best rocket, The Best Rocket, is the best idea;  The Explorer Rocket, the explorer, is that of the intrapreneurs; and The Pioneer Rocket is the pioneer that launches into a new business or market that is unknown to Prosegur.

Immersed in an ambitious transformation project, Prosegur has promoted in the last two years open innovation, the opening of the company to the outside. And in this strategy are framed these three rockets that have been put into orbit thanks to the work of the innovation team and the good response of the employees. 

The first program, The Best Rocket, was launched with the launch of ten challenges posed by the different business units and the Prosegur Foundation. And the platform was opened for employees from all over the world to participate with their ideas.

To get an idea of the high degree of participation in the launch of this first rocket, some data: 1,135 ideas were presented, almost 7,000 users from 21 different countries were registered on the platform that, in total, generated more than 40,000 interactions between likes and comments.

Among the winners, five have gone on to launch the following rocket: The Explorer Rocket, the intrapreneurship program. These five people are going to become entrepreneurs within Prosegur in the next six months.  

All five solutions could be put in place, or perhaps none. There is no preconceived idea. The prize of this program is the training and that seal with which the participants will leave as entrepreneurs and experts in the design of “new products, new businesses, with agile methodologies, design thinking …”.

But the ideas of The Best Rocket won’t fall on deaf ears either. Once the winners have been announced, they now have to be implemented. There will even be room for those ideas that have not won, but that are attractive for each business.
