3D Printing for Industry
ACCIONA was present at the first edition of the In(3D)ustry From Needs to Solutions Fair, organized by Fira Barcelona, the international fair that analyzes the present and future of additive manufacturing technology or three-dimensional (3D) printing. There he exhibited his first pieces made of micro concrete with large-scale additive manufacturing.
José Daniel García Espinel, Acciona’s Director of Technology Transfer, participated as a speaker making a presentation at the Architecture & Habitat Section, one of the In(3D)ustry Talks, presenting the innovative possibilities of this technology.
A 1.35m high wall section made of micro concrete with additive manufacturing was also exhibited, to show the versatility of this technology in the realization of large-scale concrete elements without the use of molds. This piece, called Modulated Wall, has been designed by the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC). ACCIONA Ingeniería has developed the structural calculation of the construction elements manufactured using this new technology.
