Extension Works of Airfield of Torrejon Air Military Base and other complementary works

 During “Plan Barajas development” the landing strip of Torrejon Airport was affected because of the building of the new landing strips pf Barajas airport. AENA decided to invest 61,5M€ to enlarge Torrejon 1,5km in order to avoid landing conflicts between planes.

At the same time the project included some additional works like building a new hangar for “12 Wind” F-18 Squad and some specific actions at the plane parking facilities.

The challenge of this project was that it had to be done in 11 months and the embankment that was done to enlarge the landing strip was of 3 million of cubic meters and it was done in 4 months. Dragados – ACU JV installed one concrete manufacturing plant and also and asphalt plant to do all the manufacturing by them. All the resources involved we supplied by Machinery Parks of Dragados and ACS.
