Recycled tyres used for building road embankments

The San Isidro road link has been built by ACCIONA with 150,000 waste tyres. The Cabildo de Tenerife has used a total of 1,200 tons of scrap-cut tires, about 150,000 tires, in the execution of the project to modify the San Isidro link. It is a novel system that is used as a filler for the creation of tracks and is the second experience of its kind carried out in Europe. Specifically, the initiative is applied in the section of the service road between the Cocarmen cooperative and the town center.
